Megan Thee Stallion’s Pete & Thomas Foundation and Habitat for Humanity partner to repair homes of older residents in Houston and Dallas.
The Pete and Thomas Foundation is joining forces with Habitat for Humanity to launch a vital initiative centered on the safety and independence of our older residents. This partnership provides essential home modifications and critical repairs for more than 30 homes across Houston and Dallas. From generator installations to safety renovations, these upgrades ensure older residents can age in place independently and stay protected against future natural disasters or emergencies.
The work officially begins in the South Park neighborhood of Houston on May 2nd to coincide with the annual Megan Thee Stallion Day.
Emergency Power Program
In response to increasing natural disasters and power outages in Houston, the Pete and Thomas Foundation has partnered with Bread of Life Inc. to launch the Emergency Power Program. This initiative aims to support senior citizens across Houston by providing essential backup generators to ensure access to power during emergencies. The need for reliable power sources has become urgent, especially following the severe impact of Hurricane Beryl, which left thousands without electricity in dangerous summer heat. The program continues to support seniors year-round, offering assistance during emergencies to protect vulnerable populations and enhance community resilience.
In 2023, the Pete & Thomas Foundation partnered with the Montrose Center to support the senior citizens living at their senior housing complex. Pete & Thomas Foundation surprised the senior residents with 175 store gift cards to get food and other necessities. The Montrose Center runs the only LGBTQ-affirming, affordable, senior living center in Houston.
